Q. Why play flag football ?

A: Football is one of the most exciting and popular sports for kids. But whether it's because of limited size or ability, or the desire to keep from getting hurt, not all kids want to play tackle football and many parents are concerned about the violent nature of the game. Since the registration system automatically places players into Divisions based on their age, simply add a note in the "Special Requests" field on the registration form to let us know that you would like your child to play up into the next Division and we will make the change. Alternately, you may email us your request. We do not, however, allow "playing down" into a younger Age Division, to be fair to the younger kids.

Q. How are the teams picked?

A:  Coaches draft their teams after all the assessments have been finished. All Efforts are made to accommodate siblings and friend requests and in most cases are granted. An effort is also made to put kids from the same area on the same team.

Q.  What is a skill assessment and why is it needed?
A skill assessment is a set of drills designed to assess the player’s experience/capabilities. Each player will throw the ball, be timed while they run a designated distance, and run sideways and/or back and forth.

The coaches watch the kids during the skill assessment and rate their level of skill, physical coordination, and speed. This information is used during the player draft to distribute the kids with similar skill, coordination, and speed levels as equally as possible across the teams.

Q.  When are the skill assessments?

A: The skill assessments take place prior to the start of each season. There are multiple sessions offered. Players do not have to attend every skill assessment; they are required to attend only one session in order to be placed on a team.

Coaches will determine what day(s) and location practice will be held. Each team will practice a minimum 1 hour a week and no more than 3 hours a week
